Not-so-Summer 2012-Amsterdam and Brussels

To be honest, I've only travelled ONCE by plane to Kota Kinabalu when I was young.. and never had I boarded so many flights at all, what more in a year's time only. If you know me, you would have probably know by now I hate the travelling part, be it with any mode of transportation, it's really not my thing being stucked with motion sickness. The pills do me good, but I missed out the whole sight of the journey cause I'll just be sleeping throughout.

For the longest time people always relate Netherlands with windmill and the wooden shoes, I've had my fair share experiencing the sight of it. Dreamy isn't it sometimes? Never thought you could be there but there you are, seeing it with your own bare eyes.

Me on successful attempt to hold onto this.. no idea what it is, but it's not easy for sure!!
MJ and her love for Orangeeeeeeee

Oh, they really love riding bicycles. It's everywhere!!! Also the special bicycles lane along the streets.

Probably the last trip here with my flatmates, and had a fun time exploring the streets in Amsterdam. The sight of Red Light District and apparently their strict no photos policy, also the pretty much turned off live sex show which cost a bomb, to us at least. The waffles and fries, you really must try this JOPPIE sauce that they have, it's pretty awesome and different for a change! Ample of restaurants serving ribs, but due to time restriction, haven't been able to try it.

Took a 2 hour tour on Heineken Experience. Didn't manage to 'catch-up' with Anne Frank. :p
Had a goooooooooooooooood amount of walking, maybe a little too much.

Managed to catch a sight of Keukenhof Garden too. Sadly, it was already the 2nd last day before they close the garden and most of the tulips are already gotten rid off! :(
Still pretty anyway, there have an array of different types of flowerssss in different shades of colours blooming altogether.

Of course not to forget another highlight of the trip being the magic mushroom experience, no, we did not try weed.
They have this nut texture with a lingering sour taste as you chew on it. Not too difficult to eat but the key is to chew until it's all mushy in your mouth, before you swallow it. Oh! the lingering taste is the awful one. We were told that it will take up to an hour before the effect kicks in, but it kicked in later.
I guess amongst us all, Mun Yee had the best experience going back to nature. Shall never forget her tiger, dolphin, stringray, banana and what nots. As for me, there were a lot of laughter just. A LOT.

Something you should try yourself cause listening to descriptions is not enough. ^___^

Brussels, Brussels.

Nothing much I could say about this place though. I was only there for barely half a day before I catch my flight to London. I must say that the Menneken Pis is just a tiny-weeny sculpture-replica at one of the corners of the streets. Seriously! But I guess everyone should honour the history behind it.
Apparently he changes clothes too!! :D
Waffles aren't really to die for really..
and the city is walkable in within half a day, or probably cause I dunno what is there to do. The Grote Markt is a pretty place though, think it's nice at night too but didn't manage to catch a sight of it.

And Tin-tin + Smurfs??

That's pretty much it. :D

Thankfully I got onto the right train to the airport. Apparently there are three airports there.. Oh man, wouldn't have know what to do if I got to the wrong airport. Thank goodness for the breeze in journeys.
:)

Till the next one, Exeter..
