Ski Trip at La Plagne, France.Dec 2011

After countless searching online for the best deal for a ski trip, a friend stumbled upon a ski trip organised by the Malaysian Society from Imperial College in conjunction with OutGoing for 499pds (insurance excluded). WAhLAaa!!! Settle our problem with a cheaper bargain, just that we had to get ourselves to London by 17th Dec morning and left the college at 17th afternoon. Yes, another ~10hour journey with Megabus to Victoria London (think they should give us discount price or something already!) Yes, for others it may be an 18 hour bus ride.. For us, it sums up to about a day! Thank goodness for motion sickness pill. All hail!


Anyway, 7 days of ski was well paid off! Yling, Jyun and I along with Visha, Bavanii, Dharine and Chern Fei from here joined the whole 50++ of them. Why was it well paid off? I'm able to ski, without falling on my butt even at the red slope (a steep one for beginners)! Duh, of course with some guidance on the last day by a friend, Dat. Other times.. eehehe.. I would say it wasn't so bad! :p  Buffet was good, but apparently last year's was better.. with far better accomodation also. But then again, what to expect? It's also a 100pds more expensive last year.

And also, saw a really gorgeous view on our last day through the blue slope too. Beautiful.
And also days where snow mountains just seem to appear above the clouds.. Really, really pretty!! And the snow flakes!! I could just land my butt on the snow and watch the snowflakes land on my sleeves. Perfect shape of a flake, unlike the ones you get in Glasgow. Real pretty.





Got to know a bunch of nice people also during the ski trip, with bar hoppings and drinking games (where they had to drink on my behalf and one got pretty drunk) going about, it was a pretty fun experience (seeing how many sausages we have in our course). However, there are other times where there's just absolutely nothing to do. Just pass time by standing around and looking at people. Ngek Ngek Ngek.

Also, got know a really nice guy, Wui Yang, who let us bunk at his place for the night before leaving to Germany on the 26th morning. XD It's great meeting and knowing yeah, always..

Will I go again if I have a chance? Yes, definitely.. IF PEOPLE SPONSOR ME!!! :D Or when I'm rich enough that ski trip comes not even close to 0.01% of my wealth.. Good experience, good outdoor activity, good company! Awesome adrenaline rush hush hush.

P/S: I really don't see the point of paying the insurance though. Visha fractured her ankle (which we thought was a sprain only then) and it was said that she could go to the hospital, but probably have to pay extra, more than the amount covered by the insurance.. like WTH? I just don't see the point to pay for it then..
